Yes, Hearts 4 Paws does help to find forever homes for cats in need.  However, preventing those cats from needing to be rehomed in the first place can help save more kitty lives, as well!

Cyrus (Cirrus) was rescued from life in a parking lot in October.  He since gained a spring in his step and a sparkle in his eye, and he went to his forever home just last week!

Wow!!  What a busy holiday season for our rescue!  Between Thanksgiving and New Years Day, we were able to help 37 kitties find their forever homes and give countless others the care they deserve.

Our rescue is 100% volunteer-supported and donor-supported. 

Hearts 4 Paws does not have anyone "on staff".  Our foster families (which include both our president and vice president) provide love and care to kitties in need with no expectation of return.  Our dedicated volunteer cat care shift crew medicates, cleans, and loves on our adoption center residents twice a day at minimum.  Transporters take cats to foster homes, vet appointments, to our adoption center, and sometimes even to their forever homes!

The reason that we are able to save so many cats is not only due to volunteers, but also to donors!  Without the help of folks like you, we would not be able to afford the veterinary care that so many of our rescues require.  A no-kill rescue, we take in cats that nobody else wants, sometimes with major medical hurdles, because we believe that every little life is precious and worth saving.  Please help us continue to save lives by donating today!

Hearts4Paws successfully trapped two stray cats in need of help at a bus company on Myrtle Street in New Bedford, MA just last week.  These two sweet boys were emaciated under all that fur, and they will need treatment for digestive issues.  We are awaiting fecal test results to determine the best course of action. The long-haired kitty - named Cirrus after high, wispy clouds - was covered in burrs that took hours to pick out, as he sat dejected and given up, defecating where he lay. He is now on the mend - moving about, using the litter box, and eating!  Nimbus, our black kitty named after a powerful raincloud, is such a sweetheart despite his hunger and missing hair.  Both boys will need to be neutered before going to their forever homes.  To help with the cost of treatment for Cirrus and Nimbus, please click "How to Help"!
