The Adoption Process

Step 1: Application Submission

You may download an application using the button below, or you may fill out a paper application at the Adoption Center at PetSmart in Bourne, MA.

Step 2: Application Review

Our adoptions team will review your application, contact your references, and speak with you in order to match your home and family to our most appropriate adoptable pets.  Our goal is to make the best match possible for pets and people!

Step 3: Meet the Pets

Once your application is received, reviewed, and approved, you will be cleared to meet your matched pets in person.  You may even be able to adopt the same day!

  • Ensure your home is set up and ready to welcome a new family member! 
  • The usual cat or kitten adoption fee is $300, and some may even be lower.
  • A member of our adoption team will meet you to process the adoption paperwork.
  • Adoption fees may be paid in cash, or via Venmo for a small fee.
  • Bring or plan to purchase an appropriate pet carrier.*
*Please note that cardboard carriers are not permitted to be used for transport of cats or kittens.
